Summary of the Business
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority (“NewERA”), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
The NTMA also assigns staff to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI).

Role Summary
The Treasury Operations and Reporting team provides a range of treasury related back-office support services to the NTMA business units and affiliated entities, principally Funding and Debt Management, Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Asset Management Agency and Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland.
The NTMA now wishes to recruit a Treasury Operations administrator to join the Settlements Team on a fixed term 24 month contract within its Treasury Operations and Reporting function. The Settlements Team is responsible for ensuring the effective settlement of all treasury transactions undertaken by the NTMA.
As a member of the Settlements team, reporting to the Head of Settlements, the position includes the following key responsibilities:
• Confirmation of treasury transactions ( Such transactions primarily include, Bonds, Tbills, Loans, Derivatives, Foreign exchange transactions, short-term instruments and retail debt products associated with the State Savings schemes)
• Preparation of SWIFT payments and confirmations.
• Reports & reconciliations of daily activities.
• Communication with traders and other relevant parties to quickly and efficiently manage exceptions.
• Maintaining effective operational relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland, the Department of Finance and all other NTMA counterparties.
Experience & Knowledge
• Euroclear/ Easyway trade lifecycle experience is required.
• A working knowledge of Swift message types.
• Well-developed knowledge of treasury products along with a good working knowledge of key middle- & back- office roles and responsibilities.
• Must have minimum of 2/3 years experience within financial services in either settlements, systems or custody role.
Skills
• Ability to quickly establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders and to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform under pressure.
• Good IT skills (MS Office).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
Pension Abatement
If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee’s re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
