Gibbs Hybrid are supporting a leading Irish healthcare client in their search for an experienced Data Architect based within a commutable distance from Central Dublin.Duration: 12 months initial contractRates: TBC – Awaiting briefing call from clientResponsibilities:Define and execute the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for data engineering, aligning it with overall business objectives.Develop and implement data architecture strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data assets.Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed ERD diagrams. Create, update, and maintain ERDs using industry-standard tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, ER/Studio, etc.); ensure ERDs are clear, accurate, and adhere to best practices in database design.Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into robust data models and schemas.Design and optimize data storage solutions, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, to support the organization's data needs.Define and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Lead the evaluation and selection of data management tools and technologies, considering scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data integration processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) pipelines.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and data engineers, promoting continuous learning and growth within the team.Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the efficient operation and performance of data systems, resolving any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our data architecture.Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, mathematics, or statistics.Strong proficiency in data modelling and database design, with a deep understanding of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.Proven track record working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), big data technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, PySpark, etc.).Expertise in data integration techniques, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and data synchronization.Extensive knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data privacy regulations.Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.Systematic understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD tools (Github, Jenkins, etc.).Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring teams.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake.Experience with Apache Spark and related Big Data stack and technologies, PySpark, Scala.Experience working in projects with agile/scrum methodologies.Familiarity with production quality ML and/or AI model development and deployment.Healthcare industry knowledge and experience with exposure to EDI, HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR integration standards.Seniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeContractJob functionDesign and Health Care ProviderIndustriesStaffing and Recruiting, Data Infrastructure and Analytics, and IT Services and IT Consulting
