Banking Business Development Lead - North Cork
We are seeking a well-connected individual in the North Cork area to join an ambitious, forward-thinking business.
This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and requires a self-driven, motivated, and proactive person to work primarily within the North Cork area, maximizing revenues for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Management and the wider team to understand, contribute to, and ensure the success of the business Strategic Plan.
2. Work closely with staff to increase customers and lending opportunities within branches and achieve branch lending targets.
3. Develop the online and phone presence, including targeted development of the online offering.
4. Engage with customers, potential businesses & community leaders regarding strategic lending opportunities.
5. Develop and maintain a database for each target market and utilize data analytical tools to leverage opportunities provided by the data.
6. Achieve targets for business development in the common bond area.
7. Develop customer solution strategies combining best available products & services.
8. Work closely with relevant teams to ensure efficient launch of new or evolving products and evaluate and adjust offerings to optimize customer solutions and risk-conscious revenue generation.
9. Evaluate the competitive landscape to ensure products and services offered are competitive, reasonably priced, and offer value to the customer base.
10. Maximize sponsorships and community funding by ensuring business presence at events and information evenings to achieve 2-way advocacy from all groups.
11. Contribute to creation, development, design, and implementation of a cohesive, targeted annual marketing and customer engagement plan and budget in line with the strategic plan.
12. Identify product training needs and deliver relevant business development training in association with the Training Department.
13. Support the generation of innovative solutions for customers.
14. Manage all marketing campaigns and social media presence.
15. Develop relationships with third-party providers & groups to offer quality and valued services.
16. Proactively conduct telephone, face-to-face, or online meetings to generate new prospects, leads, and lead follow-up.
17. Work closely with the lending team to ensure targets are achieved.
18. Develop customer engagement opportunities from information nights to seminars to financial planning information sessions to ensure the business remains connected to its customers.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a results-driven business development role preferably within financial services or a similar environment.
2. Self-starter with creative ideas, enthusiasm, and drive.
3. Results-focused, proactive ability to adapt to new situations.
4. Business development and proven sales experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
5. Knowledge of financial services products and services, especially in the areas of personal banking and mortgages.
6. Ability to assess financial services market developments, devise, and interpret customer surveys, and develop informed product and services solutions.
7. Customer-centric focus ensuring delivery of a first-class service to customers.
8. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
9. IT skills, strong database analysis, and Microsoft Office capabilities.
10. Excellent administrative, organizational, and business support skills.
11. Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure.
12. Experience in dealing with external providers and representative bodies to stay up to date with market developments and provide cost-effective valued solutions to customers.
13. Ability to work co-operatively with other businesses to share experiences, leverage expertise, and drive common goals.
14. Ensure compliance with all legislation, regulations, and guidance, including Data Protection and employment law.
