Exciting Opportunity for Facilities and Technical Maintenance Managers
Based in Mullingar, you will manage the upkeep and maintenance of our country’s largest distribution centre, a world-class facility that boasts an energy-efficient design with a complex transport and logistics hub, two-storey office wing, car parking spaces, 18 disabled bays, 32 bicycle spaces, canteen, and gym.
The Mullingar centre is equipped with near 3 megawatts of solar panels, generating approximately 20% of its energy needs and reducing carbon output by several tonnes annually, equivalent to powering over 200 homes each year.
This is a highly varied role that involves managing day-to-day operational processes, costs, and budgets as well as technical responsibility for the entire Distribution Centre. You will oversee refrigeration, heating, ventilation, generators, power, fire alarms, and warehouse equipment including fork lifts, pallet trucks, and other machinery.
You will also manage hard service contractors and soft service providers such as cleaners, adhering to highly compliant procedures regarding checks and safety.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Planning and delegating daily maintenance activities.
* Ensuring prompt corrective action to address defects identified during internal inspections or external contractor assessments.
* Project management and implementation of new concepts, processes, and procedures.
* Strategic collaboration with departmental stakeholders.
* Contractor Management, including site inductions and permit to work documents.
* Cost analysis and budget management.
* Purchasing of materials, equipment, and consumer goods.
* Invoice Management including Purchase Order completion.
* Compliance with audit requirements.
* On-call service (where necessary).
Requirements for Application
* Electrical, Refrigeration, Building Services, or related discipline/trade qualifications.
* Previous experience in a similar role; relevant experience should be demonstrated upon application.
* Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong administration, organisational, documentation, and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring all tasks are completed.
* Previous leadership experience.
* Hands-on technical maintenance attitude when required.
