Job Overview:
We are looking for a Mechanical Site Engineer/Design Engineer with experience in data centre infrastructure to join our team. The successful candidate will rotate between two key project sites within the EU, contributing both to the design and on-site implementation of mechanical systems. You will work on high-profile data centre projects, overseeing mechanical design, installations, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the mechanical installation processes on-site, ensuring systems are implemented according to the design specifications and project requirements.
2. Supervise and coordinate mechanical subcontractors, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
3. Conduct inspections and tests to ensure mechanical systems meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the construction phase.
5. Collaborate with the project management team to ensure the smooth delivery of mechanical works.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams, assisting in resolving any engineering challenges.
7. Prepare regular reports, documentation, and track project progress.
8. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during installation and commissioning.
9. Design mechanical systems for data centres, including HVAC systems, plumbing, fire suppression systems, and cooling systems.
10. Conduct load calculations, system performance analysis, and simulations to optimize mechanical designs for efficiency and reliability.
11. Prepare detailed mechanical designs and system schematics, including 3D models and technical specifications.
12. Review mechanical systems and designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
13. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other infrastructure components, ensuring optimal performance.
14. Collaborate with the procurement team to select mechanical components and equipment.
15. Support the commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring that designs are effectively implemented during the construction phase.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, with specific experience in data centre infrastructure and mechanical systems.
3. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems used in data centres, including HVAC, cooling, plumbing, and fire suppression.
4. Experience in both site engineering and design engineering, with the ability to move seamlessly between the two roles.
5. Familiarity with European standards and regulations for mechanical systems in data centres.
6. Experience with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and simulation tools.
7. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
8. Willingness to rotate between two key locations in the EU, with flexibility to travel and adapt to changing project needs.
9. Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
