Position Description
Job title: Rapid Response Technician (Tunnel/Road) M/F
Contract type: Permanent contract
Business Line specific context: Egis Lagan Services undertake motorway maintenance and renewals work on the Irish motorway and high-speed dual carriageway network on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). Our responsibility extends to some kilometers of motorway and high-speed dual carriageway.
Job Responsibilities:
The hands-on implementation of the day-to-day maintenance on the road and tunnel:
1. Hedge trimming and maintenance
2. Litter collection
3. Accident damage repair (e.g., boundary fence repairs, concrete repairs)
4. Cleaning road furniture (e.g., signs, bridges)
5. Traffic management installations, operation and removals
6. Driving winter maintenance vehicles
7. Road and tunnel inspections and functional testing
8. Workshop and vehicle housekeeping
9. General maintenance duties
10. Keep accurate records of tasks completed on paper and online systems
11. Provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours emergency responses
12. Undertake all allocated maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
Profile:
Essential to the role:
1. Relevant experience with a background in construction or farming
2. Experience in one or more of the routine maintenance activities listed above
3. An understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principles
Desirable to the role:
1. Experience in a similar role maintaining roads
2. Experience of road construction
3. Experience of traffic management, particularly on high-speed roads
4. Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices used in performing road maintenance activities
Skills/Abilities:
Essential to the role:
1. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
2. Good standard of written and spoken English
Desirable to the role:
1. Ability to navigate mobile devices easily & associated apps/tools for recording of works

1. Self-motivated and enthusiastic
2. Good interpersonal skills
3. Adaptable and flexible, with a willingness to learn new skills
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to:
1. Provide 24/7 on-call cover on a rostered basis
2. Work outdoors
