Job Title: Management Accountant
Reports to:
Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and issue company reports on a timely basis, including weekly and monthly variance reports highlighting productivity, key cost controls, and financial data.
* Develop and maintain accurate monthly management accounts and consolidated reports, incorporating detailed variance analysis and commentary on actual vs budget performance.
* Identify process improvements and efficiencies, developing analytical tools and techniques to control costs and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
* Analyse trends and ensure the implementation of cost-effective processes across various business units.
* Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Manage the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate valuations, cycle count results, and system control issues are addressed.
* Maintain fixed asset accounting records, overseeing maintenance and control of all capital expenditure items.
* Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, reviewing and analysing overhead spend and forecasting future expenditures.
* Support the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasting, and target setting processes.
* Create and enhance management dashboards and KPI reports as the business expands and evolves.
* Assist R&D, Quality, and Operations teams in optimising R&D recording and analysis.
* Prepare VAT, VIES, and Intrastat returns and requirements.
* Pursue ad-hoc process improvements and systems projects to drive efficiency gains.
Requirements:
* Candidates must hold a qualified or part-qualified accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 3 years' industry experience.
* Previous experience within the Pharma industry is advantageous.
* Proficiency in using an ERP/accounts software package.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Competence in IT and MS Office, particularly in medium to advanced Excel abilities with strong analytical capabilities.
