MRNA Technology Scientist
We are seeking a highly skilled mRNA Technology Scientist to join our team at Pfizer's state-of-the-art plant in Dublin, Grange Castle, for an 11-month Fixed Term Contract. This is an onsite role.

Your expertise in messenger RNA (mRNA) in-vitro transcription and purification sciences will drive the development and optimization of vaccine manufacturing processes. You will contribute significantly to the development of new and improved processes used in research and development, ensuring the safe and efficient chemical manufacture of experimental and active drug materials.

How You Will Achieve It
* Pfizer's Large Molecule Technology portfolio encompasses multiple approaches for creating effective bio therapeutics. Advances in technology have facilitated the development of mRNA vaccines, which are now a core component of Pfizer's product portfolio. mRNA vaccines offer faster and more effective responses to infectious disease outbreaks.
* This laboratory-based role will focus on characterizing and improving processes for existing mRNA vaccines in commercial manufacturing and late-stage development programs at Pfizer. The successful candidate will:
* Design and execute experimental studies for developing mRNA vaccines, including process characterization and optimization of steps for plasmid DNA, mRNA drug substance, and drug product manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate closely with analytical scientists who will work on characterizing these macromolecules during process development studies.
* Work with the team to design and optimize purification steps for mRNA vaccines using technologies such as filtration, chromatography, etc.
* Provide technical support to Drug Substance Technical Services when required, including troubleshooting manufacturing-scale process problems through experimental investigations at laboratory scales of operation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
* A minimum of +1 year's experience with a PhD or +3 years' experience with B.Sc./M.Sc. in the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
* BSc/M.Eng/MSc/PhD in chemistry / biochemistry / biochemical engineering / analytical sciences or related discipline in the biochemical/manufacturing sciences.
* Technical fields of experience preferably including specific knowledge and practical laboratory experience of mRNA bio-processing and separation sciences, mammalian cell technology, biochemistry, cell biology, microbial fermentation, genetics, fluid mechanics, and process modeling gained at a minimum at PhD level or through work experience.
* Experience in designing and executing components of experimental programs in the laboratory.
* Familiarity with problem-solving, risk analysis, and statistical tools.
