The role of the Product Specialist involves acting as the European Medical Information SME, providing detailed, scientific responses to unsolicited medical inquiries, serving as a vital link between Lilly and healthcare professionals or patients.
The Medical Information team combines scientific expertise and communication skills to deliver relevant, meaningful medical information that enhances patient care and research transparency.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Serve as Regional SME for Medical Information, providing detailed, scientific responses in English and/or local language.
* Create high-quality, accurate, and balanced medical information responses for internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain extensive knowledge of medical resources and integrate data effectively to address customer needs across regions and drug development phases.
* Manage issues and crisis situations related to their therapeutic area.
* Identify and promote best practices, ensuring consistency and widespread adoption.
* Analyze metrics and develop product and disease training materials.
Support for European Medical Information:
* Ensure timely responses with minimal effort and cost, supporting First Touch Point Resolution through training and quality monitoring.
* Coordinate development and review of medical responses, manage expectations, and meet deadlines.
* Create educational materials for medical information dissemination.
* Coach and guide team members and colleagues across regions and functions.
* Ensure proper resourcing for reviews and quality checks.
* Provide product training and support for medical information strategies.
* Assist frontline teams in answering customer questions during business continuity challenges.
Relationship Management:
* Support implementation of new organizational structures in Europe.
* Support partnership operations involving Medical Information.
* Build and maintain relationships with European and global Medical Information teams.
* Participate in external scientific organizations to enhance expertise and visibility.
Specialist Know-How:
* Develop extensive knowledge of their therapeutic area and products.
* Stay updated on competitor products and market developments.
* Expertly analyze and synthesize data to address complex customer questions promptly.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Pharmacist, physician, or natural sciences degree; advanced degrees preferred.
* Fluent in English and native in Spanish; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
* Experience in medical information and medical writing.
* Knowledge of Evidence-Based Medicine principles.
* Experience with databases, literature searches, and literature evaluation.
* Strong resource management, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
* Ability to work across boundaries and adapt to customer needs.
