Powercomm Group is a company specialising in medium & high voltage electrical engineering solutions. We are hiring for a number of positions due to increased growth. We are hiring for an Estimator. This is a fulltime, permanent position based in our offices in Johnstown, Naas, Co Kildare. Role duties: The Estimator is responsible for the compilation of tender bid and pre-contract activities involving reviewing project documentation, handover and presentation of tender bid to team. Check and acknowledge tender documents and amendments for completeness. Extract information into subcontract and material packages. Select subcontractors and material suppliers and request quotes. Ensure tendering processes are fully implemented. Enter pricing document captures all cost elements onto estimating system. Maintain current rates for pricing document. Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers. Liaise with Clients Team during tender process and arrange meeting if required. Appraise sub-contractor/supplier quotations. Price up preliminaries, in conjunction with Tendering Manager Highlight any areas of concern / risk in cost proposal. Complete Form of Tender and tender letter with any qualifications/clarifications Enter final tender information in tender log and ensure it is maintained. Maintain Contract Ledger for final agreed prices for contracts won Prepare information packages for handover to construction team, if successful. Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid. Develop client / specifier relationships to enhance opportunities to tender, negotiate and enhance tender margins. Attend post tender negotiations with Client. Cost Planning. Undertake project debrief, eliciting feedback from sites, to improve construction. Identification of project related risks. Develop Supply Chain. Qualifications, Experience and Skills 7 years experience in Estimating / QS Experience in a MV / HV organisation (desirable) A minimum of a Level 7 Degree in a relevant qualification, such as Civil or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. Excellent project management and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong Microsoft Office package skills and knowledge including Microsoft Project Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines Skills: Electrical Engineering
