Metrology Technician
A multinational manufacturer of precision metal components and assemblies is now seeking a Metrology Technician!
THE COMPANY:
Established over 50 years ago, this multinational precision engineering company has built a reputation on a global scale for their high standards and attention to quality. They supply a diverse range of sectors but specialize in medical devices, aerospace, automotive, and energy. Using the latest state-of-the-art CNC machines, they have the capability to manage all their clients' metal requirements, from fabrication, machining, turning, bending, tooling, welding, finishing, and assembly. With a turnover in the tens of millions and a workforce of nearly 300, they are now seeking to enhance the team with a new Metrology Technician.
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will be site-based in Shannon, Clare with the following duties:
* Carry out precision measurements using a variety of metrology equipment.
* Tools will include Faro Arm, Romer Arm, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
* Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine inspection criteria.
* Record and analyze measurement data, identifying trends and deviations from specifications.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
* Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports.
* Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak to those from the following backgrounds:
* A degree or technical certification in metrology, quality control, engineering, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience as a Quality Metrology Technician or in a comparable position.
* Skilled in the use of metrology and inspection tools, such as PCMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
* In-depth knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
SALARY: €35,000 - €45,000 DOE
LOCATION: Shannon, Clare
