Rathdrum, Co Wicklow Hybrid/Onsite:Onsite Working Pattern (Time/Hours): Shift work Overview of the role: The maintenance shift technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per client requirements on a Pharmaceutical site.
S/he will be required to work a shift rota as required.
General Day to Day of the role; Maintenance and trouble-shooting of client utilities systems Assist Veolia Engineering team to update Utilities Standard Operating Procedures and ensure training is carried out Supervision of vendors and subcontractors on site Ensure that all work permits are signed as area owner by the relevant shift members Be fully aware of the terms of the site IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention Control) licence and ensure that all actions/operations on site are within the terms.
All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia QHSE rules and guidelines Professional and courteous interaction with client Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements; Keep training current in line with client's requirements, i.e.
SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and other Engineering Work Instructions Must be able to organise and prioritise tasks; must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
Take system ownership for specified equipment Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects with the team Support Energy Improvement projects across the Utilities plant Ensures that all utilities equipment is available at all times.
Any equipment deviations are reported in the first instance as per the site escalation process.
Carryout Investigations on Utilities Equipment, identify problem areas and assist in improvement procedures Must be able to work independently on their own projects while working concurrently with all departments and levels of employees.
Ensure that the minimum shift numbers are maintained at all times.
Ensures all issues over shift are communicated to the next shift on shift change-over in a smooth and efficient manner To Assist with Planned and unplanned Shutdowns.
Update stores spare lists as appropriate Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
To be successful in this role you will need: Technical certification ( Min Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical ,Electrical engineering) or related field with 3 years minimum experience and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems.
Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems, Low /Medium voltage Electrical Systems, Wastewater treatment Building Management Systems Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
PLC's Work within a Computerised Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
Work within a documented Permit to Work System Solid computer skills Ability to read and understand P&ID's.
Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems.
Understanding of Basic Instrumentation Troubleshooting / repair of Mechanical systems Team Player.
Attention to detail Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
Good Initiative and a Proactive attitude in approach to duties Demonstrate experience of working in a maintenance function within an Industrial environment Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
