We are looking for a CORU registered, enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist with demonstrable skills, enthusiasm and compassion to work with Children and young people who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties or illness. Role summary: This is a one-year contract for a Staff/Senior Speech & Language Therapist to provide routine mental health assessments in Dublin north city and county CAMHS and Speech and Language Therapy. You will be based in Ballymun/Finglas CAMHS, Ballymun civic centre, Ballymun. Child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) is a specialist service for children and young people up to age 18 years, who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties or illness and need treatment from mental health professionals. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Provide mental health assessments and speech and language therapy alongside Health and Social care professionals, with input from psychiatry Communicate intake assessments to CAMHS teams Document assessment, referral contacts and summaries in accordance with discipline and professional standards, in a manner compatible with Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act Collaborate with young people and parents/carers, team and other agencies in treatment planning Foster close working relationships with CAMHS colleagues and agencies in maximising young peoples outcomes Seek advice and assistance with any assigned duties in line with principles of evidence based practice and clinical governance. Qualifications, skills, competencies, knowledge: Hold a qualification approved by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU Have three years post qualification clinical experience for senior grade Demonstrate clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role Demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver assessments in an effective and resourceful manner Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
