We are seeking an experienced HR professional to step into a pivotal role as Interim HR Manager for a period of 6–8 weeks, commencing in January (exact dates to be confirmed). This individual will oversee the HR function during a critical and busy period, ensuring smooth operations and stability amidst ongoing redundancy processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in redundancy management, stakeholder engagement, and change management, coupled with a practical and hands-on approach to daily HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Redundancy & Change Management
1. Support the organisation during the first phase of a planned redundancy process (initial phase begins May 2025).
2. Advise on severance agreements and provide guidance on pensions.
3. Liaise with external advisors (e.g., Mercer) to align plans and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
4. Present figures and discuss plans with employees (note: financial calculations are handled by Mercer and the finance team).
2. Team Leadership
1. Manage and support two direct reports.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
1. Act as a point of contact for employees, fostering open communication and resolving queries.
2. Engage with leadership and external partners to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
4. Operational Presence
1. Be a physical presence onsite five days a week, ensuring continuity and stability.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Proven expertise in managing redundancy processes, including severance agreements and employee communications.
2. Strong understanding of pensions and HR advisory in redundancy contexts.
3. Demonstrated success in change management and stakeholder engagement.
4. Practical experience liaising with external advisors (e.g., Mercer).
5. Ability to work onsite full-time and lead with a hands-on approach.
