Responsible to: Freight Warehouse Manager and/or approved designate.
Main Location: Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin.However, the post-holder may be required to visit other sites as required for the performance of their role.
Normal Hours: Monday to Friday 2pm to 11pm, with an hour unpaid break each day, and every 4th Saturday 6:30am-finish with a legally compliant break.
However, flexibility is required depending on the needs of the business.
Role Overview: To maintain and develop service levels in order to enhance continuous development.
Unloading and sortation of goods in.
Picking, staging and loading and scanning of goods in & out.
Maintenance of excellent housekeeping standards and compliance with all health and safety requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Warehouse Manager to organise and carry out shift functions and requests from the management team as required.
All warehouse security processes to be maintained.
Ensure all warehouse activities are conducted and completed in a professional and business-like manner with appropriate levels of personnel and maximum utilisation of resources.
Ensure warehouses and yards are cleaned regularly and systematically.
Manage yard traffic and vehicle parking as required.
Accurate checking, scanning of all orders, loading and manifesting of all out bound vehicles.
Checking that all freight is accounted for in the warehouse and the end of day bay checks are completed.
Identify and investigate discrepancies and report to management as appropriate.
Measuring and cubing all freight arriving at the warehouse and amending the paperwork accordingly.
The smooth and effective loading/unloading of vehicles in the yard.
Ensure all inbound goods are checked off and put into the appropriate bay or export warehouse Ensure export trailers are loaded and departed on time to make ferry departures.
Responsible person on shift for reporting, escalating and responding to operations as required.
Ensure appropriate levels of supervision of staff is achieved.
Liaise with Warehouse Manager to schedule holidays for the Warehouse Operatives and ensure adequate cover is in place at all times.
To be involved in any task that may be required by management to improve the utilisation, or service levels of the operation.
Liaise with the transport planning team to ensure goods are loaded as planned and to work with planners on daily volumes for regional depots and carriers.
Required Skills and Experience: Experience working in a similar environment.
Must hold an up-to-date Counterbalance Forklift License.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to oversee the day-to-day operations in the warehouse and ensure daily tasks are delegated and completed.
Working knowledge of computerized systems and warehouse functions Self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for tasks and actions.
Awareness of and compliant with Health & Safety procedures and policies.
Additional Requirements: In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post-holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Company from time to time.
