JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Retail Merchandiser DEPARTMENT: Clane, Co. Kildare 1. Scope of Position The seasonal assistant is responsible for cheese, food, and non-food item sales.
The seasonal assistant is charged with caring for cheese to ensure it is sold in its best condition and ensuring the Cheesemonger has thorough knowledge of all products and services that the concession offers, including the product's "story," how the product pairs with other products and the ability to explain flavours.
The seasonal assistant will also be responsible for cleaning all areas including the counters, storage areas and fridges.
The seasonal assistant is charged with providing customer service and making sales in a sometimes fast-paced environment, for maintaining Sheridans Cheesemongers high standard of personal, exemplary customer service and unique approach to offering local food, producers and culture.
2. Key Responsibilities Ensure that the Sheridans retail outlet is merchandised and presented in a visually attractive way with a focus on customer needs.
Where appropriate, engage with customers in a positive and friendly way in accordance with Sheridans' customer service policies.. The employee will communicate regular updates to their line-manager.
At the location the employee's responsibilities will include: Monitoring stock levels; Ordering stock to maintain recommended levels using simple online application; Maintain cleanliness of locations as per H.A.C.C.P.
plan; Conducting a daily spot clean and weekly deep clean on chill and ambient; Regular merchandising to maintain appearance of display; Stock rotation: rotate existing product by date; Shelf restocking: ensure that the site Wall is adequately always stocked with appropriate products; Transportation of excess or short-dated stock to locations where it may be discounted and sold, avoiding waste.
As required: set up and run tastings of our products to aid sales focuses.
3. Department Structure Reporting to: Team Leader and Area Manager Working with: Cheesemongers, Team Leaders, Area Managers Manage/Supervise: n/a 4. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 1 years' experience in a similar role desirable but not essential Awareness of HACCP/Food Safety in retail.
Organised and calm in a fast-paced environment. Available 5 over 7 days including weekends and evenings to support business needs.
