Job Overview:
The Structural Plan Reviewer is responsible for reviewing structural plans and supporting documents to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices. This position involves ensuring that all structural elements of construction projects are designed to be safe and compliant with local, state, and regulations. We are currently looking for Structural Plan Reviewers for our Pleasanton and Fair Oaks Offices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review Structural Plans:
* Review structural plans for buildings and other infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
* Verify that structural elements for gravity and lateral systems meet safety and performance criteria.
* Review structural calculations, material specifications, and construction methods to ensure adequacy and accuracy.
* Stay current with state and local structural engineering codes and regulations (e.g., CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS 402/602, NDS, SDPWS, and relevant seismic and wind codes).
1. Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure structural design complies with codes.
* Evaluate the impact of environmental factors, such as seismic activity, wind loads, rain loads, flooding, and snow loads, on the design and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
2. Collaboration and Communication:
* Work directly with local jurisdictions, architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to review structural plans and address any discrepancies or compliance issues.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, such as developers, contractors, and other team members to ensure project goals are met.
* Provide recommendations for improvements to ensure compliance and safety.
3. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
* Maintain detailed records of reviewed structural plans, approvals, and feedback.
* Document any issues or discrepancies found in the plans and track revisions or corrections.
* Keep accurate records of permit history and design evaluations to ensure compliance during the construction phase.
Qualifications:
* Licensed Structural Engineer (SE)
* 10+ years of experience in structural plan review, structural design, or construction project management.
* Proficient with all building materials (concrete, masonry, steel, wood, etc.)
Job Type:
* Remote or hybrid schedule available
* Part-time or Full-time positions available (FT)
4LEAF anticipates paying between $47.79 - $65.72 per hour for this position, commensurate with experience and depending upon the location at which the individual is hired to work.
