About the role
As a Data Science Manager in the data team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the teams and technology that drive CitySwift's data systems. You will oversee a team of talented data engineers and scientists responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the scalability, performance, reliability and quality of our data systems, enabling the rest of the business to build products and features on a solid foundation of quality data.

Experience with these technologies would be beneficial but you don’t need to have worked with all of them to apply. As long as you have an understanding of core fundamentals then this could be the position for you.
What you’ll achieve
Lead and motivate a team of data engineers and scientists to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our business needs
Identify and support the needs of the team as it moves through the stages of team formation
Support the development and career aspirations of team members through coaching and mentorship
Lead the recruiting of new team members as we grow and build a world-class, sustainable and diverse data team
Drive an efficient and effective software delivery process including managing team ceremonies and backlog
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Spend a small portion of your time actively contributing to the codebase to help out when needed but more importantly to stay close to the developer experience
Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and trends through continuous learning
What you’ll need
Proven experience as a Manager, with a strong background in data science.
Extensive experience in working with teams who are designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines, architectures, and platforms.
Deep understanding of statistical and machine learning models, ML productionisation, data quality and analysis.
Expertise in cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
