Health & Safety Officer
We are currently seeking experienced Health & Safety Officers to join our client’s expanding construction teams across multiple residential projects in Co. Dublin.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established developer with a strong portfolio of large-scale developments and a commitment to delivering best-in-class safety and quality standards.
The successful candidates will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager and play a pivotal role in the implementation and management of Health & Safety procedures on site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside the wider Construction Management team to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
2. Consistently drive improvements to Health & Safety standards on-site in line with company and statutory requirements.
3. Monitor and enforce the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
4. Identify site-specific hazards and ensure mitigation plans are put in place and documented.
5. Maintain clear and effective communication with the Health & Safety Manager.
6. Ensure statutory records, site folders, and relevant documentation are up to date and compliant.
7. Enforce strict adherence to site rules and disciplinary procedures for all contractors.
8. Support site management in complying with Health & Safety legislation.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
10. Manage and coordinate contractor compliance on-site.
11. Carry out site safety audits and ensure any non-conformances are addressed promptly.
12. Contribute to accident/incident investigations and reporting processes.
13. Deliver Toolbox Talks and safety briefings, while identifying additional training needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing Health & Safety in the construction sector.
2. Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (or related discipline) is essential.
3. Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) is desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and ability to implement risk control measures.
5. Proactive and capable of working independently within an established management system.
6. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external contractors.
7. Confident in delivering safety presentations and chairing meetings.
