As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
Lead AI engineering, architecture and R&D work for Digital
Lead a team of AI engineers and software development team to develop next gen AI- and Data-led solutions
Incubate new solution ideas and drive R&D efforts with cross-functional teams to define its architecture, data- and analytics models for its intelligence layer, and run tests to continuously evolve the solutions. Encourage experimentation and the exploration of new AI methodologies.
Play a key role in defining the AI and software architecture and selecting appropriate technologies from a pool of open-source and commercial offerings. Select cloud, on-premises or hybrid deployment models, and ensure new tools are well-integrated with existing data management and analytics tools.
Build robust enterprise wide architecture for AI solutions for clients - envision, build, deploy and operationalise an end-to-end machine learning and AI pipeline.
Practitioners’ ability to identify and infuse generative AI capabilities across all AI solutions that we conceptualise, build, deploy and take to market
Work with product teams to create a roadmap to finding product-market fit and commercialisation of our new AI solutions
Help with new client pursuits by fostering deep relationships with technical stakeholders at our top UK/EMEA clients by demonstrating insight and thought leadership on application of digital in their context to help them meet their business goals.
Conduct research and experimentation to improve existing models and propose novel approaches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate generative AI solutions into real-world applications.
Apply product mindset and practices to ensure the solutions have a roadmap and a development plan, follows the right engineering practices to ensure modular and scalable architecture, and continuously evolves with a well-defined user testing and feedback loop
Mentor team of AI and cloud architects and engineers, driving thought leadership and continuous innovation, and keeping the organization abreast of the latest AI trends and its possibilities
Oversee AI model development and evaluate and select appropriate AI tools, frameworks, and platforms
Contribute to the Digital’s AI Solution strategy for the target industry segments
Support presales and delivery efforts of our AI solutions with a focus on IT engineering and security efforts
Lead digital IP management, including patents, trademarks and copyrights. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the integrity, validity, and value of IP assets.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
15+ yrs of proven track record in leading global 20+ team of multi-disciplinary skills including solution architects, data scientists, technical architects, and developers
Solution architecture (features, functionalities, upstream & downstream impact on the AI workflow)
Technical architecture (data flow, technologies, how they interact and integrate, technology selection, scalability, security)
Strong expertise in AWS or Azure
Demonstrated experience in working with both senior business and technology stakeholders
Familiarity with building large-scale AI products or platforms for NLP, speech, computer vision, or recommendation systems serving millions of users.
Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience in AI and machine learning engineering, with a strong track record of leading teams and managing complex projects. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices. Experience architecting AI solutions that use well-managed core APIs and SDKs to access LLMs and foundational models
Deep understanding of AI technologies (e.g., GenAI capabilities, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, RAG, Knowledge Graph), programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Solutioning and engineering skills in one of the primary Cloud hyper-scalers with a preference for AWS or Azure skills.
Cloud engineering skills including security and disaster recovery, storage, networking, virtualisation, containerisation, orchestration, Linux, web services, APIs, and DevOps
Working understanding of the primary services leveraged in building and deploying, at scale, Cloud-native applications and platforms
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, with strong management and interpersonal skills.
Project Management: Experience in managing AI projects with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Innovation: A strong portfolio of innovative AI solutions and contributions to the field (e.g., patents, publications, conference presentations) is a plus.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
