Overall Purpose of the Job
Based at our client site and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership in providing maintenance and installation on all plumbing related projects, including moves management, space planning, administration, financial control, logistics, H&S, and Energy Management of the highest quality, enabling the business to carry out their activities in a safe, comfortable, productive, and cost-effective environment.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plumbing and pipework under our control as per the Plant CMMS / CAFM system.
2. Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters) in commercial and residential structures.
3. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals during construction.
4. Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, identifying and diagnosing plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
5. Complete light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
6. Prepare cost estimates.
7. Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
8. Adhere to all plumbing building codes and regulations.
9. Assist the engineering team in carrying out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control.
10. Ensure that all contractors and staff are H&S compliant, including management and creation of documents for SSOW.
11. Conduct property and facility related inspections.
12. Maintain an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements.
13. Liaise with the service desk / Team Lead and respond to all non-technical queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the relevant Service Level Agreement.
14. Carry out reactive tasks that will enable repairs to building fabric.
15. Assist with the moving of plant and equipment as deemed necessary by the client.
16. Carry out the daily checks on site as per client requirements.
17. Fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, door furniture, office furniture, etc.
18. Assist subcontractors to allow them to carry out their tasks, for example, signing in, work permits, and showing to area.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Plumbing trade qualification.
2. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position and environment.
3. Facilities maintenance experience is desirable.
4. Ability to work on own initiative with minimal direction.
5. Excellent customer service skills.
6. Good communication skills.
