Job Title: Semi-Senior Accountant
We are delighted to support a well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice in Cork City.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and auditing services to clients. You will work closely with senior staff members and gain valuable experience in various areas within accounting and audit.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* Assisting with audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and completion.
* Performing bookkeeping and management accounting tasks.
* Preparing tax computations and returns.
* Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships.
* Developing a strong understanding of current accounting and auditing standards.
* Contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA) or actively pursuing qualification.
* A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within an Irish practice environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS, GAAP).
* Proficiency in accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience with Irish tax legislation.
* Familiarity with audit software (e.g., CaseWare).
