The Purpose of the Role: In the Trinity St. Jamess Cancer Institute (TSJCI), the mission of our Education Strategy is to offer personalized, flexible oncology education offerings to all staff and trainees connected with delivering care to cancer patients, those conducting cancer research and for patients and the public.
Development of innovative oncology education programmes at the CPD, module, certificate and degree programme levels are required to deliver impact in Oncology Education in TSJCI.
This post will facilitate the development, co-ordination, administration of different oncology education programmes, international placements and work with the Director of Education and the Education advisory board on different aspects of the Education strategy.
Context: The ambition of the Trinity St Jamess Cancer Institute is to develop a comprehensive cancer centre with national services, to become a leading international institution for translational cancer research, and through its structure and national and international collaborative network to represent a standard bearer for Ireland internationally.
Ultimately, the Trinity St Jamess Cancer Institute will provide national leadership to decrease cancer mortality and continuously improve the cancer patient's experience and outcome.
This new role will coordinate the development of new teaching platforms and new CPD courses, standalone modules, and certificate courses in Oncology.
The role reports to the Education Lead for the TSJCI (Prof Jacintha OSullivan).
Although the role-holder will work as part of a team, they will have responsibility for delivery of certain parts of the operation within the Cancer Institute and will work with other project managers in the Trinity St. Jamess central office.
The role holder will be the first point of contact for staff in the School and Hospital as they develop course content, as well as clinical staff who wish to take courses.
All administrative work with student secondments and international research placements nationally and globally will be done by this Education Coordinator.
The role will be responsible for providing a professional, efficient support service to all staff and visitors to the Institute.
Post status: 3 Year Fixed Term Contract Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative Officer 2 Salary Scale (€57,270 - €67,293) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
