This role has a pivotal part in service planning, co-ordinating and managing activities and resources for infection prevention and control within the clinical areas.

Essential Criteria:
* Registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
* Succesfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider
* National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 award or higher relevant to the specialist area of IPC
* Minimum of 5 years post registration full time experience in the General Division of the register
* Minimum of 2 years full-time experience in specialist area of Infection Prevention and Control
* Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development
Skills:
* Registered with NMBI
* Level 8 qualification
