Business Unit Health & Safety Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Unit Health & Safety Manager to support our projects in the Civils business in Ireland. This role will involve working closely with Regional Directors, Project Directors, and Project Managers to ensure all onsite health & safety standards meet our internal expectations.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 4-6 safety advisors and be responsible for implementing best practices across all sites. Strong influencing and communication skills are essential for this role, as you will work to promote positive occupational health and safety conditions and behaviors.
Your Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head of H&S in developing and rolling out the company's Strategy.
* Ensure workplaces are audited/risk reviewed at a frequency and with intrusiveness in accordance with Policy.
* Raise 'at risk'/early intervention concerns to Project Managers and directors when needed.
* Monitor Health and Safety performance within the Business Unit and prepare relevant reports.
* Support tender and pre-qualification teams, advising on Health and Safety submissions and providing practical solutions.
* Identify learning and development requirements for yourself and your team, and provide coaching on Health and Safety expectations and standards.
About You:
* You have 10+ years of experience in a senior health and safety position, ideally in the construction industry.
* You hold a third-level qualification in health and safety/occupational health and safety.
* You possess excellent written/verbal communication, time management, and organization skills.
* You have experience working with lifting operations, PSDP/PSCS, Temp Works, BS 7121/IS 361, OHS/Env reporting systems.
* You are familiar with IT and digital technology.
* Chartered membership of IOSH is a distinct advantage.
