Job Summary
The Traveller Support Worker plays a vital role in the Bryson Pathways Floating Support Project, using a community-focused approach to provide tailored assistance to members of the Traveller community. This support spans housing, income, health, education and contributing to society, ensuring individuals and families receive appropriate and effective services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Identify and engage with Traveller families and individuals in need of support, particularly in areas related to housing, financial stability, health and education and community connections.
* Establish and maintain trust-based relationships with Travellers to help them achieve their goals.
* Assist Travellers in developing the skills and confidence to manage their accommodation and equitably access essential public services.
* Support new and existing social housing tenants in maintaining their tenancies.
* Advocate alongside the Traveller community, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
Essential Criteria
* A 3rd Level qualification in a related discipline, such as community development or social work, along with 2 years of experience in a related field in Social Care/Housing advice.
* Alternatively, 5 years of paid experience in a related field with a focus on Housing advice/Social care/Financial guidance.
* GCSE English and Maths, with a Grade C or above.
* Experience of co-producing needs assessment and support planning.
* Proven ability to manage caseloads of multiple needs and timescales.
* Experience of dealing with individuals in an advisory/support capacity.
