Senior Occupational Therapist (Primary Care Services)
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Primary Care Team covering Thurles and Templemore.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a community-based setting, providing essential Occupational Therapy services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.
Role Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs)
* Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention
* Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs
* Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice
* Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team
Requirements:
* Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU
* Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation
* Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users
* Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable
* A full drivers license and access to a vehicle are essential
* Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions
