Support Worker
The Good Shepherd Centre is seeking two Support Workers to provide assistance to tenants in the Centre and community, as well as assisting project workers in implementing care plans.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
* Work within the framework of the overall objectives and Policies of the Good Shepherd Centre.
* Provide assistance with daily activities such as personal care to service users in their own home, promoting clients' dignity and wellbeing.
* Implement support plans (recovery focused) with clients as directed by the project worker.
* This may include cleaning, shopping, general housekeeping, and other tasks identified.
Key Tasks
* Ensure the promotion of clients' dignity and wellbeing.
* Assist with life skills such as using household appliances, meal preparation, and cleaning.
* Keep up-to-date records such as daily logs.
* Work to the service model and standards of best practice.
* Attend and participate in individual, team, and GSCK training and meetings as required.
Requirements
* Level 5 QQI Healthcare or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in a related field.
* Full clean driving license and access to a car.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience of lone working in a healthcare setting.
* First Aid Training.

* Ability to respect each service user's dignity and sense of independence.
