Job title: Software/Mechatronic Engineer
Reporting to: Control Systems Manager
Responsibilities & Duties
* Work closely with all stakeholders, customers, sales, engineering & production to ensure the control methodology developed suits the customer’s requirements for every project to keep pace with demand.
* From the understanding of the project scope, generate a list of requirements and documentation to allow mechanical engineering to finalize design, electrical loom to be manufactured, and in doing so create a document folder in the process allowing for traceability.
* Be familiar with the software like Danfoss’s “PlusOne”, “CoDeSys”, “VCL (Vehicle Control Language)”, and have an in-depth knowledge of CANopen protocol. The ability to learn how to set up supplier-specific equipment like remote controls, LiDar, Sensors, Display screens is essential.
* The ability to troubleshoot all these systems using all the tools available but not exclusively limited to software debugging environments, Oscilloscope, CAN sniffing tools, thermal cameras. Electrical troubleshooting will be required, so the ability to read electrical schematic diagrams, interpret and measure what signal should be present is necessary.
* Liaise with customers and field support staff directly to maintain support and modify trucks where required.
* Develop a standardized code to harmonize the Combilift family ranging, which is essential for the long-term Combilift growth goals.
* Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the maintenance and operation of control systems working practices.
