Due to an internal promotion, we are recruiting a Production Supervisor.
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities. This important role involves managing production schedules, ensuring strict adherence to quality and regulatory requirements, and supervising a team of production operators. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of medical device or FMCG manufacturing processes and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Production Team:
o Lead, train, and manage a team of operators, assemblers, and technicians to meet production targets.
o Ensure all team members follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
o Support employee performance, providing feedback, coaching, and agreeing improvement actions.
2. Production Planning and Scheduling:
o Work closely with the Production Planner to implement the Production Plan.
o Oversee the daily production schedule, ensuring the timely achievement of production targets.
3. Quality Control and Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, ISO standards, and other relevant industry standards.
o Monitor regular quality checks to ensure that products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
o Manage and resolve non-conformances, perform root cause analysis for product defects or issues, and implement corrective actions.
4. Equipment and Process Management:
o Work with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues.
o Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency whilst maintaining product quality.
5. Safety and Environment:
o Enforce strict adherence to safety guidelines and ensure a safe working environment.
o Conduct regular safety meetings, training, and ensure that all safety equipment is used properly.
o Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
6. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
o Lead and participate in improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
o Ensure accurate maintenance of production records, daily production logs, shift reports, and quality control data.
o Prepare accurate and timely reports for management meetings and payroll processing.
o Ensure all documentation complies with internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and/or 3-5 years experience as a Production Supervisor in Manufacturing, medical device or FMCG manufacturing.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment, Medical Device or FMCG manufacturing is preferred.
* Experience with medical device regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) is preferred.
Skills:
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and process optimisation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
* Ability to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement across teams.
* Adaptable to changing environments and priorities.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and results oriented.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
