Job Title: Security Guard

Reports To: Security Supervisor or Site Manager
Job Summary:
A Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, staff, visitors, and property. This role involves monitoring and patrolling the facility, controlling access points, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies to prevent theft, violence, and other disruptions. Security Guards must remain alert and professional at all times and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and Surveillance:
o Perform regular patrols of the premises, both internally and externally, to detect and deter potential security breaches.
o Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems, to ensure continuous surveillance.
o Review footage from surveillance systems and report any suspicious activities or security concerns.
2. Access Control:
o Control access to the premises by verifying the identity of staff, visitors, contractors, and deliveries through ID badges or visitor passes.
o Ensure that only authorized personnel enter restricted or sensitive areas of the facility.
o Keep accurate logs of visitor entries and exits as required by company policy.
3. Incident Response:
o Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or unusual activities, following established protocols.
o Provide immediate assistance in case of fire, accidents, medical emergencies, or other incidents requiring intervention.
o Alert law enforcement or emergency services when necessary and provide a detailed report of the incident.
4. Enforcing Security Policies:
o Ensure that all personnel adhere to company security protocols and guidelines.
o Conduct searches of individuals or vehicles when necessary, in accordance with company policies.
o Report any violations of policies or rules, such as trespassing, loitering, or unauthorized entry.
5. Communication:
o Communicate regularly with the security team and supervisors regarding any issues or concerns.
o Maintain a log of daily activities, including incidents, patrols, and inspections, ensuring all records are accurate and complete.
o Assist in providing direction and information to visitors or employees as needed.
6. Safety Checks and Inspections:
o Inspect the premises regularly for potential safety hazards such as broken locks, fire hazards, or malfunctioning security systems.
o Report any maintenance needs or security vulnerabilities to the appropriate department.
o Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are properly secured at the end of each shift.
7. Customer Service:
o Provide assistance to staff, visitors, and clients, ensuring they feel safe and welcome.
o Offer support in handling complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
8. Other Duties:
o Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on security practices, emergency procedures, and the latest technology.
o Assist in crowd control during special events, ensuring the safety of attendees.
o Perform other security-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Previous experience in a security role is preferred, but not required. Military or law enforcement experience is a plus.
* Certifications:
o Valid PSA license (we can provide this certificate if required)
o Valid manual handling certificate (we can provide this certificate if required)
o Valid Safepass (we can provide this certificate if required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: €14.50-€15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 60 per week
Work Location: In person
