Senior Building Services/Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer
Our client, a leading global EPCM company involved in a number of projects in Ireland, is looking for a Senior Mechanical/Building Services (HVAC) Project Engineer, who is excited about working on advanced plant projects, to join their Irish on-site team based in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.
This is a hybrid/site-office position with 2 days a week on site.
In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Mechanical discipline, supporting and leading projects for a semi-conductor client, being accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
The Senior Building Services/Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer will provide on-site assistance during the project commissioning process, working closely with the client, the Trade Contractors, vendors, other design and engineering professionals and the discipline lead. Your team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for HVAC, Specialty Exhaust systems, Specialty Wet Utility systems, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems and components.
In this role you will also solve complex problems, take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions, and work independently with minimal guidance in only the most complex situations. You may lead a functional team or project and serve as a best practice and quality resource.

Here is what you will need:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Building Services/Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering.
2. 10+ years of practical application of mechanical engineering and design, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems.
3. 5+ years’ Design experience with mission critical facilities in the industrial/advanced technology sector.
4. Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, Trade Contractors and vendors at all levels. (CEFR level B2 English)
5. Experience in independently leading a functional or project team including organizing, assigning, and delegating necessary engineering and design tasks, while engaging with staff to provide on the job training and mentoring.
6. Show strong leadership and interpersonal skills and with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, team environment with multiple deadlines.
7. Ability to create disciplines staffing plans and forecasting hours.
8. Working knowledge of International Building Codes and local Irish regulations and standards.
9. Experience working with or working knowledge of Fluid Modelling and Simulation software.
10. Experience working with or working knowledge of Building Energy Modelling Software.
11. AutoCAD software experience.
12. Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
13. Experience working in a BIM environment.
14. Working knowledge of Navisworks with some experience with Revit software.
Desirable:

2. Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
3. Prior design experience leading teams (wet and dry systems) on industrial utility buildings piping systems, large complex industrial HVAC systems and process exhaust systems.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
