Job Description:
Role Purpose
The Care Staff role includes training, supporting, and encouraging service users to participate fully in work, activation, training, and education programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist team members in delivering services to those attending Day Services, prioritizing their safety and the safety of others.
* Support service users in setting personal goals through Person Centred Planning (PCP), developing and carrying out plans to achieve these goals.
* Listen to service user wishes and support self-advocacy, while encouraging responsibility for daily decisions.
* Support swimming programs, including pool entry, and act as a key worker for each service user.
* Provide personal assistance for service users with personal needs, including intimate care.
* Contribute to the design and development of the Day Services Program, in line with New Directions.
* Run various day program aspects and record activities on the electronic information management system.
Requirements
* Obtain or near completion of a full Major FETAC Level 5 award in a relevant Healthcare Qualification.
* Interest in working with Intellectual Disabilities.
* Commitment to supporting people to achieve their goals.
* Motivation to work within a team delivering an excellent service.
* Understanding of the Care Staff role within the Day Services Department.
