About the Role
We are expanding our services to meet the needs of those we care for, and we currently have a number of opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division, in County Mayo. This key role of Person in Charge is a crucial part of our team.
Purpose of the Role
The primary goal of this position is to provide the highest possible standards of support to those who use our service. We aim to ensure that our service aligns with government and health executive policies.
Main Responsibilities
* Work autonomously and with initiative to ensure the service meets regulatory requirements.
* Act as the Person in Charge for existing services, ensuring compliance with department of health regulations and HIQA standards.
Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
* A professional degree (minimum level 7) in Applied Social Studies or relevant qualification.
* A proven track record of managing a residential service that meets quality, regulatory/legislative requirements.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Full current driving license with full eligibility to drive in Ireland, and access to a vehicle.
Service Delivery
Taking the lead on shift when on duty in the service, participating in direct care, assessing individual needs, developing care plans, and monitoring progress and outcomes.
Training & Development
Assisting in training new team members, organizing and facilitating training programs, and enhancing knowledge and skills.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring completion of required records, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Quality Assurance
Implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting regular audits, and identifying areas for improvement.
Communication & Collaboration
Fostering a positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Conditions of Work
This post requires flexibility in working hours to ensure the safety and well-being of young people and staff. The post holder must also participate in the On-Call support system.
