The RoleThe Assistant Accounts Officer will report to the Accounts Officer and will be responsible for preparing and assessing budget, revenue, expense, payroll and journal entries, and other accounting documents.
Key Functional Responsibilities: Preparation of weekly payrollMonitoring of the PO system to ensure all POs are processed in a timely mannerData entry of sales and purchase invoicesData entry of all receipts and paymentsMaintenance and reconciliation of creditors and debtors' ledgersEnsure all purchases are acquired in compliance with the Procurement PolicyProcessing of the monthly accounts payableAccounts receivable controlProcessing of employee monthly travel expensesEstablish and maintain cash controls and monitor cash reservesPrepare and reconcile bank statementsConfirm monthly totals on ROS and process paymentSupporting the Accounts Officer in the preparation of monthly management accountsSupporting the Accounts Officer in the preparation for the annual audit of the financial statementsAssist with the preparation of the year-end reports for stakeholdersAssist with the annual budgetDevelopment, implementation and monitoring of financial policies and proceduresMaking sure the organization is compliant with current taxation legislation
