Consultant Psychiatrist Dublin South, Ireland
This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to be part of a Mental Health Psychiatry Team with a top Dublin hospital in Ireland.
Location: Cork
Contract Type: Contract, full-time (37 hours per week) with an on-call commitment
A hospital offering neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs is hiring a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry with a Special Interest in Neuropsychiatry or Psychiatry of Later Life. The facility is renowned for its specialized care for individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's Diseases, early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and undertake all duties and functions within the Consultant's area of competence, aligning with policies specified by the Clinical Director.
2. Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director to support operational and strategic plans.
3. Advise the Clinical Director on clinical priorities, actively participating in strategic development discussions.
4. Manage clinical team members as designated by the Clinical Director.
5. Foster an open and inclusive working style, ensuring positive relationships and effective communication.
6. Ensure compliance with HSE and Mental Health Commission requirements.
7. Develop innovative ways of delivering clinical services and maintain the highest standards of clinical effectiveness.
8. Facilitate professional clinical competence and participate in performance management.
9. Assist with collaborative teaching and training programs in line with the client's strategy.
10. Promote research activity and teaching in the Hospital according to the organization's strategic plan.
Required:
1. Full registration with the Specialist Register (Psychiatrist) of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
2. Minimum of seven years post-grad experience.
3. Registration as a general adult psychiatrist with a sub-specialized interest in Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry desirable.
4. People management experience or position of additional responsibility to the clinical area.
5. Proven track record in leading change and developing clinical services.
6. Energetic individual with solid experience collaborating with a diverse team of clinicians and strong knowledge of Clinical Governance.
7. Play a key role in teaching, managing, coaching, and engaging in the practice and education of medical students, medical staff, and other allied health professionals.
8. Good knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organization.
9. Ability to deliver core contracted hours and undertake on-call services as per the agreed rota.
