Job Title: Relief Care Worker
6-month Fixed Term Contract, variable hours
Location: Longford Autism Service, Knockloughlin, Longford
About the Role:
To provide and deliver personal care services to individuals with Intellectual Disability within a residential service setting, in an environment which values and respects the individual, fosters a positive behavioural support approach to supporting people with challenging behaviours and an environment that fosters community based living, personal development and social inclusion.

What We’re Looking For:
* Skills and knowledge in the areas of Autism, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy and Down Syndrome.
* Understand the principles of care and how to put them into practice.
* Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
* Know about communication, what helps and hinders communication and how to use it effectively.

Your Responsibilities:
* Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice at all times.
* Assist service users in the taking of medication in line with policy and procedure.
* Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporating choice.
* Facilitate and implement a person-centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users.
* To be able to work effectively in a team providing person centered support for service users.
* To be able to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of service users at all times.
* To be able to adhere to all policies and procedures.
Additional Requirements:
* A Full Clean driving licence and access to a car.
* If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland.
