Responsibilities:
1. Delivery of electronics development deliverables to ensure Valeo Detection Vision Systems continues to be a global leader within the automotive industry by developing innovative cost-effective solutions using cutting-edge technology.
2. Responsible for the robust delivery of electronics development deliverables, as set out in the electronics development process, across assigned projects.
3. Generation of schematic design and review/approval of PCB layouts.
4. Ensuring best design practices are employed to ensure optimum Design for EMC, Design for Manufacture/Test etc.
5. Thoroughly and professionally representing the electronics design function within assigned project(s).
6. Creating electronics development project plans, monitoring and communicating to R&D PM for inclusion into overall R&D planning.
7. Ensuring daily project deliverables are checked, met, and communicated in a professional manner.
8. Providing Technical Leadership and decision-making to the Electronics Development Team.
9. Reviews of Internal requirements, Customer Requirements, Specifications etc.
10. Selecting appropriate design solutions and electronics platforms.
11. Conducting general software & product design reviews and problem resolution.
12. Addressing issues during product validation and homologation.
13. Conducting Electronics DFMEA & FTA activities.
14. Participating in Formal product Design Reviews and Schematic/PCB Reviews.
15. Supporting development and maintenance of the Electronics Development process.
16. Delivering assigned projects to agreed R&D electronics development budget.
17. Ensuring professional management of Technical communication with relevant Customers.
18. Supporting efficient transfer of product designs through the NPI process to the Operations group.
19. Sponsoring Innovation and Creativity in the development of all products.
20. Giving regular status reports and performance metrics for your team, including subcontractors, to the Electronics Department Manager.
21. Identifying Training requirements for assigned staff.
22. Assisting Business Development Dept with Feasibility Studies and subsequent RFQs as required.
23. Keeping up to date with new Standards and general market information in the Industry.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 7 years experience working in an electronics development environment.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Ability to bring a project from concept to volume manufacturing.
5. Experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage.
