Post 1403 Medical Scientist Diagnostics Department Full Time - Temporary Specified Purpose Cork Centre, Saint Finbarrs Hospital The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, temporary specified purpose, Medical Scientist based in the Diagnostics Department, Cork Centre.
Essential Criteria: Candidates must have, or be eligible for, full Membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) or registered with CORU.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work in a team environment.
Must demonstrate flexibility to work in a demand driven environment, enthusiasm, adaptability and a willingness to co-operate Good computer skills Appointee must demonstrate experience of working in a GMP/GLP environment Desirable Criteria: Problem solving and skills of deduction.
Ability to make rational calm decisions.
High level of commitment to tasks undertaken in quality environment.
Experience in the area of red cell serology including antibody identification and blood grouping Experience of reference red cell immunohaematology (investigation of complex red cell serology).
Experience of working out of hours in a blood transfusion laboratory Knowledge of ISO accreditation The salary scale attached to the post is the Medical Scientist Merged scale €42,892 to €71,508 (incl.
LSI) pro rata per annum.
Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience.
