About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland that provides services for people who are homeless and people at risk of homelessness.
As a key member of the Under 18 Residential Services team, you will provide support and assistance to young people aged 15-18 who are out of home in a short-term residential setting.
Your Responsibilities
* Work within the framework of the overall objective of the organisation and the values of the agency.
* Act as a key worker for individual young people and work in partnership with external agencies to support their needs.
* Draw up individualised programmes exploring clients' experiences of homelessness and support them to break this cycle.
* Support young people who have experienced trauma and/or present with challenging behaviour.
* Advocate on behalf of young people for housing, social work, social welfare, education, training and legal rights.
* Record and maintain records in relation to the project and individual clients.
* Attend and participate in team, review and agency meetings as required.
Your Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of working in a children's residential centre or with children with complex needs.
* A third level qualification at degree level in Social care or a related field.
* A clean driver's license.
* A working knowledge of the impact of childhood adversity on adolescents.
* A high standard of written communication.
* Teamwork and team support.
