Senior Engineering Technician / BIM Modeller Manager
We currently have a requirement for a Senior Engineering Technician/BIM Model Manager to join our successful and growing Civil, Structural and Architectural Team. Based in our Cork office, the ideal candidate will be looking to further their career and gain invaluable experience in BIM within an established consultancy with a friendly and team-focussed office environment. This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development. The successful candidate will assume a lead role in a diverse and challenging range of projects across all sectors (commercial, healthcare, science, industry and technology, social infrastructureand 3rdlevel education). Our global and local teams continue to lead the market in terms of our focus and continued innovation around sustainability (net-zero, embodied carbon, circular economy) and digital (smart, BIM).
Your requirements/responsibilities:
As a Senior BIM Modeler Manager (Structural), you will work closely with experienced engineers and technicians to:
1. Produce 3D models and 2D drawing documentation of buildings and civil structures
2. Utilise Revit,AutoCADand other BIM software to create detailed engineering designs, drawings and models.
3. Manage the structural Revit model and ensure the model is delivered to project BIM requirements, updating standard settings and creating families when necessary.
4. Collaborate with team members to transform sketches into accurate technical drawings.
5. Participate in project meetings, offering technical insights and recommendations for optimising models and drawings.
6. Collaborate with multidiscipline external design teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements using Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360 Docs. Publishing Revit, Navisworks, IFC and DWG files when necessary.
7. Attending Virtual Design review meetings and utilising Navisworks or similar review software to coordinate with other disciplines when necessary
8. Adhere to project timelines and effectively manage workload to meet deadlines
9. Conduct regular quality control checks on drawings and models, while implementing the requirements of the project BIM Execution Plans
10. Control, issue and update all drawings and documentation in accordance with the Arup Quality Management System
11. Gatekeeper of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information, tracking and communicating drawing/ model changeswhen necessary
12. Troubleshoot technical BIM problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment
13. Mentoring and guiding junior staff during their early stages of their technical development.
We seek the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
The typical education/profile for applicants would be:
14. Ideally, a minimum of 8 years experience, however, we will consider exceptional candidates with less experience
15. Experience preparing detailed design information from an engineering consultancy
16. Qualified in Civil / Structural Engineering or BIM & Information Management (NFQ Level 6 or above)
17. BIM professional certificates / training courses from technical institutes / software companies
18. Ability to use Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Essential
19. Ability to use CADS RC or 3D RC detail in Revit would be an advantage
20. Knowledge of Civil3Dand Navisworks would be an advantage
21. Programming skills using Python, Dynamo or Rhino.Inside.Revit would be an advantage
22. Knowledge of BIM processes for information management to BS/PAS1192 and ISO19650-1/2 would be an advantage
23. Good time management skills, ability to priortise work, and manage multiple tasks concurrently
24. Candidate must be detail and accuracy oriented
25. Good communication skills, with command in both written and spoken English
