Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the repair and maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), plant, and equipment in order to support the smooth operation of the business.
Maintenance Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company HGVs, trailers, plant, and waste equipment to maximize fleet efficiency.
* Coordinate with supervisors to plan and schedule maintenance and CVRT testing according to a predetermined schedule.
* Demonstrate flexibility by working on various vehicles simultaneously.
* Assist with planning vehicle maintenance, ordering parts, and coordinating work with other garage staff members.
* Regularly review workload and resource allocation with line managers.
* Contribute to weekly planning sessions to identify upcoming tasks and procurement requirements.
* Provide status reports as needed.
* Utilize hydraulic experience where applicable, although not essential.
* Ensure a safe and cost-effective workshop environment.
Required Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
* Proficiency in MIG welding is desirable.
* Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
* Capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining quality standards.
* Additional duties will be assigned based on operational needs.
* Holding a valid Class C driver's license is required.
