Position Overview:
The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the retail store, including quantitative and qualitative Key Performance Indicators. They will lead the store management team directly and be accountable for store performance in all areas such as, store financial performance, people management & engagement, customer experience and operational excellence. They will ensure that the store achieves its financial targets while creating an experience that allows customers to continuously conquer the outdoors!
What You’ll Do:
1. Achieve or exceed sales targets including both top and bottom line results
2. Continuously analyze performance metrics and leverage this information to increase revenue and optimize costs
3. Analyze and react to the needs of the business, identifying top sellers, slow sellers and the fulfillment of merchandising strategy
4. Drive our Net Promoter Score (NPS) and other selling and service metrics
5. Drive the store’s Units per Transaction (UPT) by actively introducing new, underperforming and strategic categories
6. Resolve common customer issues by investigating opportunities, developing solutions, preparing reports and mentoring teammates on handling similar challenges in the future
7. Train the team on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure they have the proper understanding of SOPs potential impact on the business
8. Empower and encourage teammates to create brand loyalty and drive employee engagement
9. Create impactful development plans and performance management tools to create an environment where teammates can perform to the best of their abilities
10. Develop future leaders and identify external talent for the retail business
11. Proactively react to inventory planning and maintain proper inventory metrics such as stock-ins, turnover, and flow
12. Maintain loss prevention procedures that minimize unnecessary loss and increase security at the store
13. Control payroll budgets to improve efficiency and provide the best customer experience
14. Perform store opening and closing procedures in alignment with company standards
15. Regularly review company’s email and other communication tools to ensure applicable messages are shared with the team and acted on in a timely manner
Let’s Talk About You:
16. Minimum 3 years of store management/store director experience
17. Previous experience working with affluent and luxury brands in high traffic or Flagship locations
18. Experience maintaining operational excellence in retail stores, shrink management, inventory management, etc.
19. Experience with new store opening processes and best practices
20. Previous experience owning a store’s profit and loss (P&L) and payroll and expense reporting
21. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to recruit and develop talent at all levels
22. Phenomenal communication and presentation skills and able to conduct large training sessions
23. Excellent analytics skills with a proven understanding of retail math and metrics
24. Strong business sense with a keen attention to detail
25. Excellent time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
26. Strong negotiation skills combined with an adaptable approach to selling
27. Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships
28. Consistently exhibits Canada Goose’s Values, taking pride in being innovative, authentic, passionate, relentless, and entrepreneurial
29. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office specifically, Word and Excel
30. Bonus points for proficiency in another language
