Overall Job Purpose
The role of the PMO Specialist is to provide specialist expertise for PMO / programme / project managers. They'll be known as experts and will play a proactive role in supporting PMO / Programme & Project managers to apply programme and project management methods and implement best practice processes. This will include application of practical management controls that support improved project/organizational performance.
1. Development and maintenance of a Project Management toolkit
2. Quality Assurance
3. Stage Gate support and sign off
4. FSOC (Forward schedule of Change)
5. Capability and Capacity management (flex up,down)
6. Learning and Development programmes
7. Communities of Practise
8. Induction support
9. Integrated Planning
10. Support adoption and delivery of corporate governance expectations
11. Share information, good practice and expertise with others
Qualifications
12. Degree level in relevant subject (IT, Business Studies etc)
13. Prince2/PMI/ and Project management diploma
14. Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent role
15. Excellent understanding of the application of the project lifecycle.
16. Outstanding written and verbal skills
17. Proven success in a similar role
18. Good knowledge and experience of industry standard best practice Portfolio and Programme Management
19. Proficient user of the MS Office suite, MS Visio and MS Project
20. Good exposure in the application and support of PPM tool Behavioural
21. Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
22. Solid communication and interpersonal skills
23. Works well under pressure.
