Supplier Procurement Engineer

Do you have the following skills and experience?
* Overall ability to combine technical skills, with a keen interest in commercial and supply chain aspects.
* Understanding of various supplier manufacturing technologies and processes, supplier controls and industry standards. Having specialist knowledge of related commodities would be an advantage (metal fabrication, metal machining, plastic molding, PCBA, cables, optics, fluidics, etc.).
* Understanding of best practices in Engineering Change management.
* Ability to influence supplier selection decisions at a Site and Strategic Procurement level.
* Proven negotiation and influencing skills with suppliers.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to initiate and lead supplier optimization projects on a cross-functional and cross-site basis.
* Problem solving, planning and analytical skills. Ability to collate and analyze large amounts of data for decision making.
* Excellent oral communications, business writing skills and presentation skills.
* Self-directing, goal oriented and able to prioritize workload in an Agile environment.
* Team player who can build strong and influential relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
In this role you will be working as part of a broader procurement engineering team and have an ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams.
What will you be doing in this role?
1. Support NPI and EC processes.
2. Manage RfQ & Supplier Selection.
3. Supplier Tooling management.
4. Manage Part Transfers – to existing & new suppliers.
5. Bring supplier innovation and new suppliers to the company.
6. Initiate and implement productivity & supplier performance improvements.
Educational Requirement:
Engineering Qualification and experience. Manufacturing engineering ideal. Understanding of manufacturing processes and components. Metals, Plastics, electronics, hydraulics etc.
