Clarecare is a professional social enterprise with charitable status, providing a range of person-centred social services to individuals and families in County Clare for over 50 years. Current services include Family Support, Elderly Care Services, Child & Adolescent Counselling, and Bushypark Residential Addiction Treatment Centre.
Bushypark Residential Treatment Centre offers a 28-day Residential Programme for people with alcohol, drugs, gambling, and associated addictions, based on evidence-based models of treatment. The Centre also offers Community-based Programmes, such as the Cocaine Initiative and Aftercare. Further information is available on www.bushypark.ie.
We have an immediate vacancy to join our Counselling Team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Overview of Bushypark Addiction Treatment Centre:
The Counsellor position forms part of a multi-disciplinary team, led by a Psychotherapist/Clinical Supervisor. The existing team includes Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and Night Staff. Counsellors are employed in both residential and community-based services.
The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team in providing assessment, evaluation, and psychological interventions to individuals, couples, and families who present to the service for support with addiction and related issues.
Job Location:
The Counsellor will be based in the Bushypark Addiction Treatment Centre, Ennis, Co. Clare. Remote/Hybrid working does not apply to this role.
Job Details:
The successful candidate will work as part of the Treatment Team in Bushypark and liaise regularly with the team. Flexibility and willingness to travel and work outside of normal hours is necessary.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week, which includes working 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday (alternate) every 6 weeks.
Responsibilities of the Position:
General Responsibilities:
* To be accountable to the Bushypark Senior Counsellor and be supported by the Deputy Manager.
* To adhere to Clarecare and Bushypark policies and procedures.
* To maintain files in accordance with CHKS accreditation standards.
* To fulfil the administrative responsibilities of the post.
* To maintain professional boundaries in all work with clients.
* To comply with the clinical standards of the Centre.
* To engage in relevant training and keep up to date with new developments in addiction, counselling, and psychotherapy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* One-to-one work with clients with addiction issues and their concerned persons.
* Developing individual strategies and care plans with residents.
* Facilitating group sessions and family conferences.
* Preparation and delivery of lectures to resident groups.
* Case managing clients as necessary.
* Participate in Clinical Multi-disciplinary Team meetings.
* Maintain relevant records and files.
Minimum Requirements:
* A professional qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy to at least Level 7 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) - QQI.
* Be fully accredited or awaiting full accreditation as a Counsellor with relevant bodies.
* A minimum of 1 year post qualification paid employment as a Counsellor.
* Working knowledge of the Biopsychosocial model of addiction treatment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* 2 positive references from current/most recent paid employment.
* Full clean driving licence.
Salary & Benefits:
The gross salary for this position is commensurate with experience, offering €46,231.56 gross per annum for fully accredited Counsellors and €35,741.52 gross per annum for pre-accredited Counsellors.
26 days annual leave per annum excluding Public Holidays.
