To improve the brand awareness and engagement of supporter base via a range of strategic communications, events and community activities. To develop key existing and new brand partnerships in order to elevate our brand.Reports to: Senior Communications and Marketing ManagerThe successful candidate will be tasked with building on recent work to optimise the income and engagement from our internally managed events, develop the strategic direction of the events portfolio; develop key high-profile partnership opportunities and proactively build the number and support for events organised by external groups. Build on plans to improve the awareness of Dublin Simon’s work in public and private sector and the mass market using a strong and robust communications strategy. You will be managing an extension of the marketing and communications department, serving as a support to the wider fundraising department by executing key events that will benefit the engagement of our Dublin Simon brand.This role is responsible for two direct reports as well as a full-time volunteer and delivering on KPIs that feed into the company’s overall strategy.Job RequirementsWork with the Senior Communications Manager and Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications to develop a strategy to increase our income, database, publicity and awareness from all our events and community activity. Achieve and exceed our annual database acquisition targets and other Key KPIs set out in our annual Scorecard.Act as a support to the wider Fundraising Departments in setting up key events that will benefit their segmented audiences.Oversee the successful management of our key events including Gamerfest, Beyond the Pale, Home Run, Community of Hope Art Auction, Sing for Simon Concert and wider Sing for Simon Campaign & The Busk.Develop and maintain relationships with key Partnership stakeholders.Maintain and improve relationships and engagement with all suppliers, advisors, supportive community groups, associations, clubs etc., expand our network of these groups including all counties of operation.Research and develop ideas for new events, flagship days and areas of growth for the organisation.Develop the Communications, PR and Media plans for each event and across other key communication activities.Work with the rest of the Communication & Marketing team to amplify messaging and reach.Develop and deliver an annual plan of communications, marketing and digital activity to increase event participation, income, brand awareness and trust of Dublin Simon through our community and cornerstone events.Extend and improve the effectiveness of our defined key volunteer roles with particular attention paid to speakers in schools and larger volunteer-organised events as per plan.Develop integrated communications & marketing plans, tailoring and developing content to maximise reach across traditional and digital platforms to highlight the public participation fundraising activities.Be an active and supportive member of the Fundraising & Communications management team, ensuring all opportunities for coordination are optimised to achieve the overall Fundraising plan.Engage with Senior Communications Manager to build the brand awareness and trust of the organisation through events and relevant marketing strategies.Collaborate across the Fundraising, Communications & Marketing Department to facilitate and grow cornerstone events with donor participation across many income streams.Develop partnerships with high profile individuals and groups to support and promote key events.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in business, event management, marketing or equivalent professional qualification.3-5 years’ experience at management level in a relevant role (including team-management responsibility and event management).Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a small, dynamic team.Proven experience in end-to-end event management.Demonstrated experience in budget management and excellent stakeholder management.Personal AttributesYou will be a highly motivated, solutions-focused professional with a track record of shaping the narrative of an organisation.You will possess exceptional communications and interpersonal skills as well as strong technological capabilities.You will be able to work independently, taking a lead on key items of work using your own initiative.Commercial acumen and an ability to recognise opportunities are crucial to this role.You will be able to capture a complex issue like homelessness and have the ability to create engagement and commitment from others to improving the lives of our clients.Note: The duties listed in this job description are not exhaustive and you may be expected to perform other duties as are reasonable in the course of your work with Dublin Simon Community.Please note: If you are unsure of any of the requirements, please contact the Recruitment Team at (01) 6354860.
