The Role
The Global Supply Chain for ID, the Infectious Diseases Market Business Unit consists of Manufacturing sites in China, Korea, Japan, Jena, Germany and Scarborough and Westbrook US, centralised services in Galway and the corporate headquarters in Chicago, US.
The Supply Chain Headquarters for the Global Infectious Diseases Markets (ID) is based in Galway.
We are responsible for managing the Supply and Demand of Lateral Flow Diagnostic Tests for HIV, Malaria, Hepatitis C, Flu, a range of tropical diseases, and now Covid 19.
We support a rapidly expanding Business unit within Abbott and collaborate closely on sales execution, product supply and human resources with the other business Units within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division.
In addition to liaising with Manufacturing Units in Japan, Korea, China, Germany and US, we amongst many other external Global Suppliers and we serve a Global Customer base across all continents.
Our core ERP system is SAP.

Job Responsibilities
* Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse supply chain data. Leverage your expertise in Power BI development to create insightful visualizations that drive informed decision-making.
* Power BI development: Developing & implementing insightful Power BI dashboards, enabling self-service solutions based on available data sets.
* Process Enhancement: Identify inefficiencies and gaps within supply chain processes. Based on data, propose improvements to streamline operations, enhance communication channels, and foster collaboration.
* Testing and Validation: Assist in developing test cases and participate in integration testing cycles. Provide subject matter expertise during user acceptance testing.
* Problem-Solving: Tackle supply chain challenges head-on, leveraging analytical skills to devise effective solutions.
* Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with demand planning, material management, and manufacturing teams to align processes and created reports based on customer demand.

Requirements
* Minimum of 5 to 7 years Planning experience in a Global Business Environment.
* Experience of supply chain in medical device industry is an advantage.
* Primary Degree in Engineering, Business ,Maths or Data Science is a prerequisite and a Masters degree in one of these subjects is desirable.
* Strong understanding of the following tools: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, DAX, SQL, VBA, Python, Excel
* Knowledge of SAP (or equivalent) Modules required to maintain customer, vendor & pricing Master Data.
* Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Ability to work on own initiative, motivated, self-starter and Team player.
* Desire to acquire further knowledge and to understand the business.
* Fluency in business English, both verbal and written
* Ability to travel globally as required (with advance planning)
* A strong track record of collaborating with and influencing multifunctional, globally dispersed teams, with a project environment preferred.
* Experience of presenting to Global Executive teams.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Excellent Communication Skills with ability to communicate and train other staff members and internal customers.
