ABOUT THE LAND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative. Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Summary:
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will be a key support for our Finance department providing advice on various tax heads across different departments in the LDA. This position is focused on compliance and process type tasks, with a smaller element of the role focused on consultancy/advisory type tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely preparation, completion and filing of indirect and direct tax returns.
Provide input/suggestions on process/system efficiencies that might be adopted to improve the processes.
Assist in ensuring adherence to tax governance frameworks and policies.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and implement efficiencies.
Responsible for continuous improvement in the efficiency of data gathering.
Liaise with external advisors to ensure compliance with local tax legislation.
Provide tax advisory support to various business units within the company.
Perform tax research and assist in analyze technical tax issues.
Assist in delivering tax training to the wider firm.
Assist with responding to tax enquiries from Tax Authorities.
Requirements:
Holds a degree in Business, Finance or Accountancy related subject.
CTA qualification or exams in progress is an advantage.
Proven experience in a tax role within industry or practice.
Strong understanding of indirect and direct tax processes.
Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
Proficient in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks.
Good core IT skills – Adobe, Excel, MS Office, Word etc.
