For our data centers in the Zaragoza (“ZAZ Cluster”) we are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist (DSS) to manage the day-to-day physical security operations of our sites.
Under the direct leadership of the Cluster Security Manager, the DSS maintains the physical security posture of their assigned sites with the support of the security guard force vendor.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Direct and manage contract guard force to run daily data center operations.
2. Provide guidance and leadership to contract security provider personnel.
3. Ability to walk a facility and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
4. Evaluate the contract security provider performance and service delivery and request corrective actions from vendors as needed.
5. Foster working relationships to educate data center stakeholders on false alarm reductions.
6. Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at and analyzing data.
7. Verify Data Center security programs are delivered to meet defined global security standards.
8. Assist in all media integrity related Programs.
9. Assist in the training of new and existing personnel on behavioral compliance to security policies and procedures.
10. Handle escalations and resolve tasks delegated and/or assigned to the team.
11. Draft reports and prepare presentations on the status of physical security operations.
12. Collaborate with managers in writing and implementing security policies, processes and procedures based on regional or global security initiatives.
13. Serve as a customer advocate by identifying security-related opportunities and crafting innovative solutions that maintain security standards.
14. Participate in site audits, inspections and walk-through.
15. Identifying, discussing and bringing forward issues and solutions to senior team members.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2+ years of experience within similar role in the public or private security industry.
2. 2+ years of experience using data and metrics to improve processes and/or customer satisfaction.
3. Hold Professional Identity Card (TIP) as security director qualification or ability to obtain one.
4. Hold Habilitacion Personal de Seguridad (HPS) or the ability to obtain one.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2 years plus managing contract guard force.
2. Trained on data analysis and visualization systems such as Microsoft PowerBI or equivalent.
3. Experience working in a mission critical environment, such as a Data Center.
